From a very impromptu shoot prior to a show at The Social earlier this week, here are new London band Fanzine. With only a few shows under their belt, they played a tight and loud set to a very appreciative crowd; great things are expected, no doubt. No music available to buy yet, but you can check out ‘Susan’ below, via Transparent Blog and there’s a myspace and a blog too.

Another shot from the recent shoot I did at Union Chapel with some of the guys from Bella Union. I’ve seen John Grant play four times in the last few months and he floors me every time.

In the accompanying interview to this session, Grant talked explicitly and at length about his upbringing, musical loves and the renewed sense of self he feels following the release of Queen of Denmark, his universally acclaimed debut album.

The first fruits I’m posting here of a session I did with the some of the guys on Bella Union, perhaps the greatest independent record label of our times, for The Line of Best Fit. This one’s of Paul Marshall AKA Lone Wolf and we found the perfect light for the shot in a stairwell at the back of Union Chapel in Islington, London, a few hours before sunset. More to come in the coming week.
